THE MBI RESUME
Scott served on the MBI Board of Directors from 2010 – 2015, and appointed Chairman of the Board in 2014. During this time, he guided programs that have enhanced member services and offerings creating a tremendous return on membership investment. These advancements included the creation of a dividend-paying casualty program specifically tailored to the vertical building industry; the introduction of ENGAGE MBI, which facilitated communications between members and legislators on vital industry-related issues; the “Training Vault” which provided a secure and systematic platform for members to record and track training which is still a vital member exclusive service today.
COMMUNITY
From the community perspective, Scott’s efforts tell an inspiring story of a true servant leader through his time and commitment. His efforts via the local Rotary Club culminated with ten new playgrounds throughout the Cedar Rapids metro area as well as multiple, heart-warming instances of improving children’s’ lives through his contributions of time and money. His focus on improving his community remains unwavering and is made evident in his work with the Community Corrections Improvement Association to help those individuals and their families as they transition out of the judicial system. Scott also strived to improve the lives of veterans as a member of the Board of Directors for the Freedom Foundation.
