On March 28th, the Sioux City Career Academy graciously welcomed MBI and CSSI to the academy. Brandon Black with CSSI taught a CPR class to 17 students at the Sioux City Career Academy, so that they could be certified in CPR.  The 4-hour class was a mixture of hands on learning, and a presentation from Brandon.  As an observer, it appears that many of the students took the class very seriously, and got a lot out of it.  The students were accompanied by two of their own instructors, which was very helpful to have extra helping hands.

Once the CPR training concluded, we provided lunch for the students before we headed over to W.A. Klinger for a site tour and Q & A with a few of their employees.  The students met with a few W.A. Klinger employees in one of their meeting rooms, and they started the discussion by informing the students of the endless amount of opportunities they have in this industry.  A Q&A followed a short presentation, and a tour of the facility/office was held at the end of the career day event.  This model of work-based learning has showed us that we will gear our career events with Career Academies and schools more towards this model rather than the traditional career fair.
